Maria Luyten

An Augustinian nun in the convent of Maria-Wijngaard in Weert (Dutch Limburg), she was probably from a local family, as she writes that her father, Jacob Luyten, died of the plague in Weert in 1568. She was probably born sometime before 1542 and began writing her chronicle in 1562.
