This short poem was printed in the editio princeps of Johannes Trithemius' De proprietate monachorum (Mainz: Peter von Friedberg, 1495), fol. C5v-C6r, after the explicit of Trithemius' work. It kept being printed in the same position in most subsequent editions of the De proprietate monachorum.
