The Office for the Dead
Standard part of a Book of Hours, containing prayers for the soul or souls of the departed within the cycle of the Divine Office. The Office for the Dead is traditionally prayed on All Souls' Day or on any given day if one wishes to pray for the soul of a particular deceased person. As with the other Offices and Hours the prayers consist of psalms, hymns, prayers and scripture lessons.
